Extended evening surgeries 6.00pm – 8.15pm Wednesday and Thursday evenings for pre-bookable appointments only. After 6.30pm our telephone will relay a message on how to contact the out of hours service. The surgery doors will be locked after 6.30pm so if you have an appointment in one of the extended evening surgeries please ring the doorbell and the receptionist will open the door. We are sorry the receptionist cannot deal with any other queries, including prescriptions after 6.30pm.
Saturday - Sunday and Bank Holidays - Closed
Saturday appointments are available for our patients at Bridge Health Centre and the University Medical Centre. These are run by doctors and nursing staff from across our South Canterbury Primary Care Network of 3 surgeries: New Dover Road, Canterbury Medical Practice and the University Medical Centre, and available for any patient registered at any of these 3 surgeries. Please telephone reception to book a Saturday appointment.
Sunday appointments limited numbers available bookable in advance held at the Kent and Canterbury Hospital and run by a clinician working for the Primary Care Network.
Consultations are by appointment only. To make an appointment, contact the surgery during the above weekday hours. You may also book a telephone consultation. Some appointments are always reserved for urgent consultations, which are triaged first by a GP over the phone. Patients may choose to see any available doctor (but bear in mind choice may not be possible if the problem is urgent).
Telephone calls may be recorded for the protection of you, the surgery and for internal training purposes.
Disabled Access - There is wheelchair access. You will be able to see your GP in a ground floor consulting room. There is an access toilet available in the surgery.
PRACTICE NURSES CLINICS
- Monday to Friday 8.15am – 5pm
- Wednesday evenings from 4:30 - 8pm
- Saturdays at Canterbury Medical Practice and The University Medical Centre
Important: Please cancel your appointment if you cannot keep it so that it can be given to someone else.
All our patients now have a named accountable GP who is responsible for their overall care in the practice. If you would like to know who your named GP is please ask during your next consultation or at reception.
If you express a preference as to which GP you would prefer to be your named GP we will make every effort to accommodate you.
Please be aware that this does not mean you can only see your named GP. As before you are still able to see any doctor in the practice.
If your named GP is unavailable and your need is urgent it may be necessary for you to see an alternative doctor.
